Meet Dr. Sood
I am a clinical psychologist licensed in New York and a brown woman navigating a world designed by and for white men. As a psychologist, I specialize in supporting other women of color, immigrants, individuals of all ages experiencing major life transitions, trauma survivors, and perinatal warriors. With nearly 15 years of experience, I am passionate about empowering individuals on their unique healing journeys.
In my practice, I provide a safe and inclusive space where you can explore your challenges, find strength, and embrace your true potential. My approach is rooted in compassion, cultural sensitivity, and evidence-based techniques tailored to your specific needs. While our first few sessions will feel like a guided discussion so that I can fully understand your story and needs, after that I prefer to let you guide the conversation with the topics that are most important and relevant to you each time we meet. Try not to stress about how your thoughts or reflections might connect to your original goals - I am here to help connect the dots!
Therapy is meant to be a space where we can say the things we don’t normally say aloud and practice the habits we want to build and use in our daily lives. Our therapeutic relationship is the safe space to learn and practice how to voice your needs, set boundaries, and own your power in your relationships.
Whether you're seeking support for trauma recovery, navigating life as an immigrant, facing perinatal or postpartum concerns, or dealing with pregnancy loss, I am here to guide you. Together, we'll work towards healing, resilience, and personal growth.
If you resonate with my approach and are ready to embark on a transformative journey, I encourage you to reach out. Please don't hesitate to message me to schedule a consultation. I can't wait to accompany you on your path to healing and empowerment!
